INDIA SOLOMON is a Detroit-based abstract visual artist channeling home, intuition, and movement: her work draws inspiration from the half-finished paint tins in her mother's DIY household, and the sewing and jewelry-making at her Grandma's house off 7 Mile.
In pursuit of radical self-determination, India uses her artwork as a platform for broader activism around truth, clarity, freedom, and liberation, particularly for women of color.
India’s current art practice spans original paintings, mid-scale murals, thoughtful garments, and home goods. Beyond and through her artwork, India works to create connections, communities, and collaborations that nurture talent, shift definitions of value, and help people thrive. India doesn’t have a favorite color, she’ll dance anywhere, and her permanent mood is 90’s R&B. She is founder of @city.shares and @fluid.spaces
